Foreign Minister Assures Justice for Prakriti Lamsal

Kathmandu: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has assured that justice will be ensured for Prakriti Lamsal, a Nepali student who died under mysterious circumstances at KIIT University in Odisha, India.
During a meeting in Bhairahawa today, Minister Dr. Rana and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak met with Prakriti’s parents and relatives, reassuring them that the Nepali government is actively engaged in seeking justice.
Dr. Rana stated that diplomatic efforts have been ongoing since the beginning to uncover the truth behind the incident and ensure strict legal action against the culprits. She also informed the family about her recent conversation with Odisha’s Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, regarding Prakriti’s death and the subsequent investigations.
The Foreign Minister further emphasized that Nepali authorities have formally requested India to conduct a thorough investigation into the case. Additionally, they have urged Indian officials to ensure the safety of Nepali students studying at KIIT University.
“The Home Minister and I will leave no stone unturned in ensuring justice for Prakriti,” she stated.
Prakriti Lamsal, a student at KIIT University, tragically passed away under suspicious circumstances on February 16.
